Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AI Comment Shield (“we”, “us”) is operated by AI Comment Shield. You can reach us at support@aicommentshield.com. This policy covers our website, dashboard and Chrome extension.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile details that Google shares with us for sign-in.

YouTube data (when you connect your channel). With your permission we access your channel information, your videos, and the comments on them, including the comment text, the commenter’s display name and the comment ID. We also store the results of our analysis: spam and toxicity scores, a category, and the moderation status (for example, held for review).

Credentials you give us. Google OAuth tokens that let us act on your channel, and, if you choose to provide them, your own Groq API key and YouTube Data API key.

Billing information. Payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive and store order and payment identifiers, the amount, your plan and the dates. We do not receive or store your card or bank details.

Chrome extension. The extension runs on YouTube pages. When you use it, it sends the comments shown on that page to our servers for analysis. It stores your settings and your extension key in your browser’s extension storage.

Technical and usage data. Usage counts and quotas, error logs, and standard request information such as IP address and browser type, which our hosting providers also log.

3. How we use it

• To identify and hold spam, scam and abusive comments on your channel.
• To show you your dashboard, history and review queue.
• To apply your plan limits, process payments and activate your plan.
• To secure the service, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To contact you about your account and the service.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Google user data and YouTube API Services

AI Comment Shield’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We ask for two YouTube permissions, and use them only for the reasons below:

• youtube.readonly: to read your channel, videos and comments so we can analyse them.
• youtube.force-ssl: to change the moderation status of a comment (for example, hold it for review or restore it). We only do this as part of the moderation features you turn on.

We use YouTube data only to provide and improve these moderation features for you. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to build unrelated products. Our team will not read your YouTube data unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security or abuse investigation, or the law requires it.

Our service also uses YouTube API Services, so the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy apply to your use of YouTube.

5. AI processing

To classify comments we send the comment text to an AI provider (currently Groq). If you added your own Groq key, requests are made with your key under your Groq account. On paid plans we may use our own account. What the provider does with that text is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

AI classification can be wrong. Comments are held for review instead of being deleted, and you can restore them from your dashboard.

6. Who we share data with

We use these service providers to run AI Comment Shield. They process data only as needed to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: database and sign-in.
• Vercel: hosting of the website and dashboard.
• Oracle Cloud: hosting of our moderation backend and background worker.
• Groq: AI analysis of comment text.
• Google / YouTube: the APIs you authorise us to use.
• Razorpay: payment processing.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and service. We do not sell personal data.

7. How long we keep data

• Moderated comments and monitored videos are deleted a set time after your monitoring period ends: 7 days on Free, 14 days on Starter and 30 days on Pro.
• Other comment history shown in your dashboard is kept until you ask us to delete it or you delete your account.
• Account data is kept while your account is active.
• Payment records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require.

8. Security

Connections to our services use HTTPS. Your Google OAuth tokens are encrypted when stored, and access to creator data is restricted to the creator who owns it and to the administrators who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and fix problems quickly.

9. Your choices and rights

• Disconnect YouTube any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Removing AI Comment Shield there ends our access to your channel.
• Stop monitoring a video or turn off protection in your dashboard.
• Ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or delete your account, by emailing support@aicommentshield.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
• Remove the Chrome extension to stop it running and clear its stored settings.

10. Children

AI Comment Shield is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Where data is processed

Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. By using the service you understand that your data may be transferred and processed there.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make a significant change we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the dashboard or by email.
